Fiber Internet Service Plans

All Fiber Service Plans include one (1) Managed Wireless Gateway.  Additional Mesh Wi-Fi Units are available if needed to provide wireless service to hard-to-reach areas of your home or business.  Download and upload speeds listed are the maximum available with each service plan.  Actual speed is affected by many factors, including customer-owned equipment and internal home wiring.  Use of LMPC service is subject to LMPC's Acceptable Use Policy.

What is the ideal placement for my Wi-Fi router?

To enjoy the best possible online experience, your Wi-Fi router needs to be able to send a strong signal to your wireless devices- no matter where you are in your home.  In general, the signal gets weaker the farther you are from your Wi-Fi router.

The ideal position of your Wi-Fi router is half-way between the floor and ceiling of the room it is located in.  Utilizing a non-metal shelf located in this area should help optimize the signal strength of your Wi-Fi router.

Other factors may also impact the strength and reliability of your signal.  The physical features of your house may contribute to Wi-Fi coverage issues.  For example,  walls made of concrete or brick, plaster over lathe and wire, or steel studs behind drywall can potentially block some- or all- of your Wi-Fi signal.

Metal surfaces and mirrors are very obstructive materials for your Wi-Fi signal.  Kitchens or laundry rooms that may contain a lot of metal appliances are not ideal locations for your Wi-Fi router.  In addition, sizeable or numerous mirrors in a room may negatively impact your Wi-Fi performance.

Sometimes, due to layout restrictions, relocation of your Wi-Fi router is not a viable option. In this case, a mesh device can be installed to extend and improve the signal coverage to all areas in your home.
